OBITUARY

On February 1, 2026, Patricia Ann Ussery, 55, transitioned to Heaven. Pat was the beloved wife of Charles Ussery for 22 wonderful years. The strength of their love surpasses time, distance, and physical space. Their bond is unbreakable.

Pat was a cherished daughter, the second child born to Jerry and Audrey Edwards in Boston, Massachusetts. Pat was the dear sister of Pamela McBride and her husband Douglas; the adored Auntie of Tré (Kathy) McBride and Taylor McBride; a loving mother to Charles Ussery Jr. and Shane Ussery; an adored grandmother to Madisyn and Imani; the esteemed bonus daughter to Wes Montgomery; the cherished step-sister to Les Montgomery; the beloved granddaughter to the late Lory and Verie Miller and the late Jessie and Mary Edwards; she was also loved by the late Benjamin Ussery, Sr., Annie Ussery, Benjamin Ussery, Jr (Diana). Pat is loved and survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pat Ussery was born and raised in Massachusetts and later moved to Maryland, where she and Charles built their beautiful home and lives together. She worked as a conductor with Amtrak for 33 years, a career that reflected her love for travel and dedication to her work. She had an incredible and lasting impact on her peers and passengers, serving as a mentor and dear friend. Her loving smile, humor, and presence made everyone feel special. Many adolescents and young adults found comfort and love in their relationship with Pat and held her in the highest regard. She nurtured them fiercely.

Pat enjoyed traveling, especially to the Caribbean. She found peace and relaxation by the ocean and pure joy in the sun rays. She had a special love for her Presa Canario dog, Grayce, and took great joy in jewelry and shopping. Simple pleasures brought her happiness and comfort. Pat will be remembered for her strong work ethic, the way she showed up for people, showed out on the dance floor, and showed us all how to live life to the fullest. Pat carried an essence of authenticity. She said what she meant and meant what she said. She would tell us not to learn how to live without her, but to learn to live with the precious memories and love she left behind.
